Founded in 2000, ZimArt’s Rice Lake Gallery represents over 50 Zimbabwean stone sculptors. Their work is on display in a beautiful natural oasis overlooking Rice Lake and the Northumberland Hills. The gallery offers the most comprehensive collection of hand-carved Zimbabwean stone sculpture in Canada. Sizes range from table top to monumental.
The gallery is a wonderful destination for visitors of all ages. The natural setting not only shows the sculpture to its best advantage but also allows for a very instinctive response to the work. Touching (with care!) is allowed. Admission to the gallery is free, as are parking and picnic facilities. There is a self-serve coffee service. Unfortunately, due to the terrain, the gallery is not suitable for wheelchairs.
The Rice Lake Gallery is open daily from June 1 to Thanksgiving, 11AM to 6PM. All other times by appointment.
